About John Black

Owner John Black has been involved in the Edmonton motorcycle scene since 1980. After apprenticing at a number of local shops between stints as a long haul truck driver he achieved journeyman status in 1993. This resulted in John opening Time Machine Motorsports in 1997. His emphasis was on performance engine building and tuning.

John got involved in motorcycle drag racing in 2000 and soon became well know for his performance in the Nitro Pro Dragster class. Team Time Machine had regular podium appearances until 2006 when John went into “semi” retirement. To this day John is still heavily involved in drag racing by continually helping new enthusiasts get started in the sport while still tuning a number of very quick street machines with his outstanding crew of journeymen at Time Machine Motorsports.

John Black does not usually make mistakes and if he does, he fixes them immediately, on the spot. John is always about a minute away from a boisterous laugh or a shouted curse.
